I finally got to visit Juknokwon in Damyang, famous for its bamboo forest. Because it was far from Seoul, we drove for about 5 hours to arrive at Damyang Juknokwon. We parked in the back gate parking lot, took a look around Juknokwon, and then came out through the main gate and had a quick meal at Noodle Street, famous for noodles and boiled eggs, near the main gate.

A view of the noodle street near the main gate of Juknokwon. At 5,000 won (about 3.8 dollars) for a bowl of noodles, it is cheap and delicious.

You can enjoy a wonderful view of the Korean-style architecture and the bamboo forest.

At Juknokwon, you can view the bamboo forest by walking along a path through the bamboo forest. The path is decorated according to theme. It can be a fun walk because there are photo spots everywhere where you can take pictures.

There is a sculpture of a panda that loves bamboo.

When we entered Juknokwon, our noses felt refreshed. It is said that negative ions actually come out of the bamboo forest. Negative ions purify the blood, increase resistance, regulate the autonomic nervous system to the benefit of the human body, and are said to have excellent air purifying power and excellent sterilizing power.

If you visit Jeolla-do, I recommend you to visit it once. For reference, it would be good to look at reviews of the accommodations I stayed at when I visited Juknokwon. Please refer to the article below.

Bamboo trees are also planted on the road leading to the back gate.
