Did you know that Koreans enjoy drinking coffee?
Korea's coffee industry has developed dramatically over the past 20 years. It has become such a popular beverage that most Koreans drink at least one cup of coffee a day.
In the past, simple-to-drink instant mix coffee was the most popular, but after many low-priced coffee shops opened, offering coffee for between 1,000 won and 2,000 won (approximately 0.7 USD to 1.5 USD) per cup, many office workers began drinking it after lunch.
So, where are the famous low-cost coffee shops?
Starting with Mega Coffee, which was the leader in low-priced coffee, Compose Coffee, Venti, Baekdabang, and Mammoth Coffee are well known. Compose Coffee featured Son Heung-min, who plays for Tottenham in the Premier League, as its advertising model, and Compose Coffee featured BTS's V as its advertising model, showing that competition among low-priced coffee brands has become more intense.
Today I will write about Mammoth Coffee, which I visited last week.
Actually, I prefer Compose coffee the most. This is because you can drink Americano for 1,500 won (about 1.5 USD) per cup, and while other coffee shops charge an additional 500 won for ice, Compose Coffee offers iced Americano for 1,500 won. And the taste suits me better than other brands.
**Please note that some branches charge slightly more for drinks when using the store.**
Mammoth Express is also a store famous for selling delicious coffee at reasonable prices. I had been putting it off, thinking I should go there once, but I finally did.
What differentiated Mammoth Coffee from other brands was that they divided the coffee sizes into three sizes. They are divided into sizes S, M, and L, and S is sold for 1,200 won so that you can enjoy coffee very cheaply. Elderly people often say that buying a cup of coffee at a cafe is too much, but it seems that some people prefer Mammoth Coffee because it is a reasonable amount and the price is cheap.
**For reference, if you eat at the store, you can choose from size M.**
