After waiting for about 17 days, I received Adsense approval. However, strangely, ads were not displayed, so when I logged in to my Google Adsense account, a notification popped up stating that ads were being restricted.

1. Reasons for limiting ad serving.

Google Adsense guides that advertisements can be restricted for up to one month if illegal or invalid traffic is detected in order to protect the rights and interests of advertisers and promote a proper advertising culture.

 

 

2. Why was I restricted from posting ads?

When most bloggers get restricted, they want to know why. However, Google does not clearly tell each individual what is a problem and limits ad serving. So Individuals should familiarize themselves with the rules and look for any violations.

 

I was approved for Google Adsense on June 4, 2023, and the ad serving restrictions were applied from June 3. Based on this fact, it can be seen that even before AdSense approval, advertisements can be restricted if illegal traffic is detected.

 

I started a blog and told a friend, but he clicked on more than 10 articles at once saying he would read what I wrote. In my opinion, it is speculated that one user read a lot of my articles in a short period of time and was caught as invalid traffic and was restricted from displaying ads. Even though it was a situation where ads were not even appearing because it was before Google AdSense was approved.

 

 

3. When will advertising restrictions be lifted?

In my case, ads started appearing intermittently about two weeks after the ad restriction started, and ads started appearing normally from a little over a month later.

 

 

4. Conclusion

It would be better not to let your friends know that you started a blog. This is because friends who read my article once out of curiosity can be detected as illegal traffic. And even if ads are restricted, you don't have to worry too much because if you follow the Google rules and run your blog, the restrictions will naturally be lifted.

 

 

Anyway, after experiencing advertising restrictions, I became more aware of the need to comply with Google Adsend regulations, so I think I had a good experience in the long run. :)
