Currently, many airports around the world are operating multiple terminals due to the increase in airport users.
Since airports operate multiple terminals, travelers sometimes have the embarrassing experience of arriving at a different terminal than the airline you plan to board. Today, we will find out what airlines are at Incheon International Airport T1 and T2, and avoid this kind of trial and error in Korea.
South Korea's representative airlines are Korean Air and Asiana Airlines.
- Asiana Airlines basically uses T1 with Star Alliance member airlines and low-cost airlines.
- And Korean Air uses T2 with SkyTeam airlines.
As shown in the picture below, only 11 airlines are using T2 and the rest are using T1.
**Currently, T2 is used by 7 airlines: KE, DL, AF, KL, CI, GA, MF. (As of May 17, 2023)**
Don't panic. And figure out where you are first.
1. If you realize that you have arrived by mistake after getting off the subway, take the subway again.
2. If you are aware that you have arrived by mistake on the 3rd floor, the departure floor, you can take the free shuttle bus to move. (Interval: Approx. 10 min, Hours: 5 AM-11AM)
a. The T1->T2 free shuttle bus stop is in front of Exit 7 on the 3rd floor. It is number 8 on the airport website, but has been moved to number 7 due to construction (by September 2023). And it takes about 15 minutes to T2.
b. The T2->T1 free shuttle bus stop is located between exits 4 and 5 on the 3rd floor. It takes about 18 min to T1.
3. If it is difficult to use either method, you can use a taxi waiting in the center of the 1st floor.
Usually, the terminal is indicated on the e-ticket, so please check carefully and arrive at the correct terminal for a comfortable return trip. :)
